Who is Will Myers and why should I be listening to him?
I have been a Personal Trainer and Sports Massage Therapist for the last 15 years. I got into the industry as an athlete who had experienced pain in my knees for years as a soccer player. My saving grace was learning different stretching and mobility techniques that released the pressure I had built up in my knees. In fact, I was told if I kept playing at the level I was, I wouldn’t be able to walk properly as an adult.
So I took the advice and started focusing on rehabbing my muscles instead of just building them. It was that, slow down to speed up logic. I had to re-think how I was building my body to ensure I wasn’t causing future damage. It didn’t take long to undo years of neglecting proper maintenance of my muscles.
However, once I figured out what worked for me, it just made sense to share it. My career ended up blossoming as a Fitness Trainer specializing in rehabilitation and injury prevention. This lead to certifications in Medical Massage Therapy, Functional Strength Training, Percussive Therapy and Stretch Technician as well as a wide range of joint specific trade school courses.
I learned that the combination of strength training and proper mobility training was ideal for every athlete that I came to my office. Each person was missing a certain part of this magic combination. I found success in accessing what areas my clients needed the most help in, which was like offering the missing puzzle piece on a 1000 piece puzzle.
Just like in my own case, people started overcoming challenges they had been struggling with for years. I became very well known as the “Therapy Guy” or “Doctor Myers”. I never really focused on marketing because my whole business was completely referral based. I was starting to learn what my purpose was.
After over a decade in personal practice, I decided I would have a larger impact by putting together a digital course to guide people through my entire system. This course would embody all that I teach as well as give students access to me directly via digital streaming services.
